    Default Sniper/Dual Sync Distributor/6AL, trying to decide.

    Good afternoon. I think this is my first post. I'm a newb at EFI cars. But hi! I'm in the process of putting Sniper EFI on a 1969 Boss 302 that has had a little work done to her, including a custom grind camshaft. I'm still in the install phase, and finalizing the ignition plan for the car. I've recently come into a little bit of extra cash and was thinking about installing a dual sync distributor into the car. Reason being, I plan to eventually have the EFI run timing anyway, and I have always had some weird issues with this (not original) distributor. I already have a wired in MSD 6AL. I guess my questions are.

    1. Is it worth installing the distributor, or should I save some cash?
    2. Is there a real benefit to having both the distributor and the 6AL?

    I'm halfway between, "I'm in this deep, why not get it all done now", and "Let's just get it running before spending more money". Meanwhile one of my reasons for going Sniper was that I was sick and tired of messing with carbs, that I could never seem to get running well. Thanks in advance.

    Yes, ECU timing control with a Dual Sync Distributor is worth it. I always recommend using a CD ignition box with distributor type ignition systems. Here's why: LINK.
