Thread: Laptop possibly wiped ECU clean.

  1. #1

Default Laptop possibly wiped ECU clean.

While trying to go through the initial setup of my buddies ECU (to V4), my laptop went into an automatic update on its own, and interrupted the process. The ECU won’t sync up. The laptop will go from Offline to USB Link, but nothing after that. It’ll try to sync, but times out repetitively. I tried to sync using V2 & V4. Note: This is a new build/ECU and has never run or had a tune.

Are you able to reflash the ECU firmware?

As much as I can remember, every time we tried to update the firmware, it wouldn’t sync up or it would say there’s a communication error. I’m also unable to “Get ECU Info” to see what, if any, firmware version is in the ECU.

Do you have a 3.5" touchscreen you can use to update the firmware?

No, he doesn’t. I have one in my car though.

UPDATE: Started over with a new EFI software & ECU firmware installation and everything worked out. Now to upgrade to V4.
