Thread: Firmware latest version?

  1. #1

    Default Firmware latest version?

What's latest version firmware for Sniper EFI? I'd like to see if mine has the newest or not, before downloading it.

Since the release of the Super Snipers and the 2300, there have been different firmware versions. The newer firmware versions will work will all existing Snipers. What is on the website will always be the latest SD card contents, which will include the latest ECU and handheld firmwares.

The handheld, (.fwu firmware) and the ECU (.eep firmware) have to be updated at the same time, to make sure that the two can talk to each other. Beware if you are going to update the firmware on the Sniper EFI ECU, you will lose your calibration. So it's advised to download that calibration to the SD card, put it on your desktop to put back in the correct file directory, after the latest SD card contents have been downloaded.

Here is a Video just completed walking an individual through the steps of updating both the Handheld and ECU firmware updates:

Thanks for posting that information Matt.
Here's another good article on it from EFISystemPro.com:

How often is an update needed?

There's a document on the Holley website that shows all of the FW revisions for the Sniper: https://documents.holley.com/techlib...g2x4update.pdf. I wouldn't update every time a new revision comes out, but I would update at least once a year. You don't want to get too far behind on the updates.

Might I suggest they add dates to those? It'd make it easier to track.
