Thread: Top Dead Center/Ignition Reference Angle

    Default Top Dead Center/Ignition Reference Angle

    I installed a retrofit EFI system on my Big Block Chevy 540. I'll be using a Dominator ECU and an ACDelco small cap distributor to control timing. Before installing the distributor, I rotated the engine to #1 compression with timing pointer line up with 0 on the balancer. Scrolling through the Ignition Parameters, under Ignition Reference Angle, it shows 10.0°. Not sure what it means? Can you enlighten me? Thank you.
