    Default CAN Wiring Issues

    I just switched out my old Handheld for the new Touchscreen. It's up & running, but I am not happy with the cables.

    The Terminator wiring harness has 2 female CAN connectors (one with a terminating resistor). The Touchscreen cable has a dual female CAN connector. This means I had to connect the two using a 4' male-to-male cable that came with the Touchscreen kit. And because my ECU is mounted inside the passenger compartment, it also means I have about 10' of cable that I have to stuff someplace.

    Does Holley (or anyone else) sell a short M-M adapter that I can use to tie the cable together? I've discovered the CAN standard doesn't standardize the physical connectors, so finding an outside source for connectors/adapters is a problem.

    I'm not aware of any such male/male adapter, but it you're handy with wiring, you can shorten that excess length of CAN Bus harness.

    The 4' male-to-male is handy if I want to setup the Touchscreen while working in the engine compartment. Just not when I have it setup in the passenger compartment and I'm on the road.

    But, you are right; I can make up my own adapter. I just need to locate a couple male connectors, a part number or something.
