Default Two Sniper questions. Coil & voltage.

Hello. I'm in the middle of an install on Holley dual sync distributor to replace my GM HEI distributor on 350 Chevy. I just noticed that I don't have a coil for the dual sync distributor. What coil should I use without any ignition boxes like MSD, etc.? I had only a GM HEI and it worked fine with it.
Second problem: I bought new battery with double posts as recommended in instructions. Battery cables in the big posts, and Sniper connected to the smaller posts. When I remove negative cable (car side), I still see 8 volts in the cigarette lighter? Car is stock 1972 Corvette. Is this okay?

Any coil that works with a standard ignition would work, but a MSD 8207 Blaster SS coil would be my choice. It's small and can mount in any orientation. If you still have the Sniper ground hooked up, when you disconnect the main battery ground, I think this is where you are getting the power for the lighter.

I would think whenever the battery negative is disconnected for work to be done, BE SURE & disconnect the Sniper ground also. Accidentally turning the key to the start position with just the Sniper ground connected, I would assume will kill the Sniper EFI.

Thank you Rimrock! I pickup the MSD tomorrow. Can I connect the Sniper ground behind the master kill switch then? It shows clearly in the instructions to connect the Sniper power supply directly to battery. I did buy a new double post battery due to that. Does the supplied information stay on Sniper if power wires are removed?

Sniper EFI will not lose it's memory when disconnected from the battery, at least that's what I have read on this board. I suppose you could hook the Sniper EFI ground to a battery disconnect switch, it would introduce a possible trouble spot, but as long as you make sure the connection is good, probably OK. If it were mine and I wanted to have a switch so I could disconnect the battery when not in use, I would put it on the positive battery lead for the engine & vehicle. That way Sniper EFI could stay hooked up to the side terminals all the time, and the switch would kill all other power to the car.

I had the battery off for three days recently. As I was advised on this forum, the Sniper EFI did not loose its memory.

Correct, never install a battery disconnect switch on the ground side.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.
