Thread: What's the easiest way to view Ignition Advance on a First Gen SBC?

Default What's the easiest way to view Ignition Advance on a First Gen SBC?

I would like to see what my ignition timing is on a display while driving my carbureted '71 Chevy truck. I have a first gen Chevy Small Block 350 which does not have a crank position sensor. I can not afford to convert it to EFI at this time, as that would be $1,250 plus. So what are my choices for seeing the timing advance?

I was thinking of installing the $252 SMALL BLOCK CHEVY CRANK TRIGGER KIT 60-2 Crank Trigger Kit PART# 556-110 and then using ____________________ fill in the blank to read the data? So can I hook that up to the $258 dollar HOLLEY LCD TOUCHSCREEN 3.5" LCD display PART# 553-108, or do I need an ignition box or some other gizmo to go with it?

That 3.5" LCD Touchscreen only communicates with a Holley EFI system via Holley's CAN Bus protocol.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thank you Danny. I know it's expensive and defeats my budget concerns, but would the fully customizable HOLLEY EFI DIGITAL DASH PART # 553-106 work?
