Thread: Planning my build

    Default Planning my build

I'm finishing up a build and I want to install the Sniper EFI. I have a couple questions.

I will be supercharging using about 7 psi of boost. I read in the documentation for the Sniper, the requirements are that the engine is NOT supercharged. The tech department for my supercharger specifically recommended the Sniper for my build. Is anyone using the Sniper with a centrifugal supercharger? I don't want to make a $1,000 mistake on this build. The second question is about the timing control. When using the timing control, is there way to utilize a knock sensor to retard the timing if detonation is detected?

Yes, if you know what you're doing - EFI tuning of a forced induction engine (Boost Setup, Base Fuel & Base Timing tables, etc.). The Sniper EFI has a 2 bar MAP sensor (internal with the ECU). The Sniper EFI doesn't have knock sensor capability.

Thank you! I feel much better now. The knock sensor would be a bonus, but with proper tuning it's not needed.
