Thread: Sniper EFI, MAP is low.

    Default Sniper EFI, MAP is low.

    So I just installed a Sniper EFI on my AMC 304, and it's running great. Seems to be getting the same mileage as it did with the carb. And my MAP numbers are low at around 60. What causes this?

    60 kPa at idle? That's not considered low. It's about right for a street performance camshaft.

    It has gone as low as 40 kPa at idle, but it seems to be getting better.

    40 kPa at idle would be where a stock or mild performance camshaft idles.

    You also have to remember that the lower the kPa, the higher the vacuum.
