Thread: Learning Issues

    Default Learning Issues

I've been having issues when the system is in Learn mode. Engine runs rough & misses, uses excessive fuel, won't idle, stays at a AFR between 14.9-15.2, and won't change under WOT or idle. As soon as I turn Learn & Closed Loop off, the engine runs better, excessive fuel at idle and it uses too much while cruising, but at least I can drive it. I do have a large cam with big overlap, and vacuum at idle is around 5 inHg, at cruse it gets to 12 inHg. I run the Wizard on "race cam" and set my desired timing & idle speeds.

I've replaced the WBO2 sensor already with a Holley replacement. I use 4 into 1 long tube headers with the WBO2 sensor set about 2" after the collectors. I run a Dual Sync distributor too. Any suggestions on what I can adjust to help this?

When the engine is tuned & running well, you should decrease the Closed Loop and Learned Compensation Limits % to lock in a good tune.
I decreased my Learned Compensation Limits to 2% in the idle area (10% elsewhere). My Closed Loop Compensation Limits are 20% or less.
When the Learn Table values stop making significant changes, the ECU is finished self-tuning. (Learn Table - Read this thread, especially posts #2, #6 & #11.)
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.
