Thread: Sniper loses acceleration power.

  1. #1

    Default Sniper loses acceleration power.

Took car to do a couple test passes last night. Launched good, but after second gear it had no power. Street manners are great, but wide open it's dead after first gear on the track. I have a datalog, what should I be looking for? Specs are 385 sbc roller 601/611 cam set as street strip msd 6al and pro bil dist timing set at 35. Can it be uploaded to here for other to view? Thanks, here's a datalog pic.

Datalog & Global Files must be linked to a document hosting website. I use Dropbox.com.
Files can also be "zipped" (compressed zipped folder) & attached directly to a forum post.
Your Global File is in the "Documents", "Holley", "HEFI V4", "Global Files" folder (.hefi file).
Pictures must be linked to a picture hosting website. I use Photobucket.com.
Videos must be linked to a video hosting website. Most people use YouTube.com.
If posting your Global File and a short datalog of a driveability problem for us to analyze, first review the datalog and
inform us of exactly where in the datalog (time/seconds) the problem occurs. Someone will look at it and offer advice.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Danny, here's from start to finish of said run. Hope someone can chime in, not used to this EFI stuff yet. Thanks. https://www.dropbox.com/s/a65rismh8a..._0001.dlz?dl=0. I'm not seeing any Global File at all on my SD card. There's a GCF, but that folder is empty.

It needs to be saved to the SD card.

Nothing jumps out at me apart from you alternator in not putting out much volts, and what it does put out, falls away at WOT.
This datalog shows you lifting in third gear. The AFR was right on your target for 1st & 2nd. Are you using ECU timing control? If so, your WOT timing is at 32°. What does your engine like at WOT?

Hey there Danny. Got an issue I think. I went to save the Global File and while browsing in that area of the program, I clicked on ECU FW/HW and it asked if I wanted to update firmware. Seeing as mine said 2016, I accepted it started loading bar and completed. Now my handheld says searching for ECU? Was I not supposed to update firmware?

No, you weren't supposed to update. There is no Sniper EFI update. Contact Holley Tech Service (LINK).

Thanks 81 Trans Am. First spike is water box, second is staging/launch small drop is into second from there it declines all the way down until I pull off track.

Found another location handheld for update for program. Did that then firmware and it all came back. Whew, really didn't want to wait until Tuesday for Holley Tech.

What is your setup? Post your Global File.

385 SBC roller, 601/611 cam, set as street/strip, MSD 6AL/MSD Pro Billet distributor, no timing control. I can grab the Global File tomorrow morning, although I wiped the ECU earlier when I was looking for it, LOL.
