Thread: Car runs then just shuts off, and won't restart (CNP).

Closed crank gap to .030", same thing, start one time, die. Changed Digital Falling, no change. Changed no cam sensor, no change, still will not restart.

I wish I could put my hands on help you out. It's tough over the internet.
I don't know what else to do in your case. Keep on it! You will figure it out.
    Everything screams crank sensor though.

Snoopstang, post your Global File. The datalog indicates the engine is running excessively rich (low single digit AFRs). Does your Learn Table look like it has abnormal/corrupted values (LINK)? What's your base fuel pressure set to (& Actual System Pressure in Engine Parameters)? Which bar MAP sensor is installed on the engine? Is the ignition timing still synchronized (Cranking Timing with injector harness disconnected)? Is the throttle blade(s) open far enough (idle speed screw)? The Clear Flood TPS should be higher than 20%. Why is the Injector Off Time zeroed in the 2nd set of injectors? Finally, are the fuel injectors dirty/clogged?

Check the crank & cam sensors, sensor air gaps & sensor wiring (chafing, pinched, burnt, damaged, loose connector terminals/unseated pins, voltage & ground, etc).

EDIT: He's running methanol fuel, hence the reason for the low single digit AFRs.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Thanks jfontaine. I added some questions to my post #43 above.

I also noticed the rich conditions, although it didn't look like it went rich right before it died in the datalog.
Due to it being so random, it just seems like a chaff/loose wiring/bad connection issue or the crank sensor.
It did display a ERROR on crank signal right before it died, but I'm not sure what all triggers the ERROR status.

NOTE: Momentary RPM Errors while cranking/starting & turning engine off, are acceptable (per Doug F. @ Holley).

43 psi. Holley 5 bar MAP sensor. Injectors were just checked again flowed put 80 psi on them, didn't leak. I'll check the timing. I saw the low A/F Ratio, seems like it could be flooding. I have a local guy, I'll have him look at the tune also.

OK, I got a little more info. I got it to run longer tonight. I put crank sensor at .025" or so. It still dies when warmed up, and won't restart, and it DOES NOT have any spark. Pulled plug out and laid on header and NO SPARK. I used a noid light and injectors ARE firing. So what will cause a loss of spark? It also happened when I revved it up, but could be a coincidence. It did this with the HP & Dominator ECU. Changed crank sensor no luck.

UPDATE: Found the issue. I was losing +12V to the coils. I upgraded the +12V feed to 10 AWG, and the vibration of engine has made a loose connection in the solder joint. I ordered a new Holley 558-318 CNP Big Wire Sub-Harness. I will fix this tomorrow with new solder joint, but I'm changing it out anyway.
