Thread: Holley 553-108 LCD Touchscreen

    Default Holley 553-108 LCD Touchscreen

I'm running an HP EFI and a 550-412 4BBL TBI on a Mercruiser 454 in a boat. I was thinking about putting a 553-108 at the dash for basic programming & gauges. I have two questions:
    1) I can't determine whether I can configure a gauge/readout of real time fuel burn on this product or if not would the 553-106 be able to do this?
    2) Are either of these two displays weather protected or IP rated in any way? Thanks, Paul

Yes, please read the instruction manual.

The Holley 553-106 Digital Dash is weatherproof rated. The Holley 553-108 3.5" TSLCD is not.

Brilliant, thanks for the swift reply Danny. It looks like I should go for the 553-106 Digital Dash. I'm just reading the instructions for that and I have one further question if you don't mind.

My question, is there any way to perform a calculation on the output of two outputs and display the result? I.E. If I connect the optional GPS I can show speed and by using using channel math show it in nautical miles per hour (Knots).
Then if I use channel math on a fuel flow gauge, I can display fuel burn in UK gallons per hour. So could I calculate my fuel burn in Nautical miles per UK Gallon and display the result on the readout?

And one more, the supplied 4' CAN cable won't reach my HP EFI ECU from the dash. I don't see an extension listed. How would you achieve this, with a custom cable? Many thanks, Paul

    No.

Correct, there is no extension harness available. You'll have to custom extend it yourself. (Maybe use a Holley 558-444 Digital Dash replacement harness.)
