    Default Coolant Temp Sensor

    The Holley (534-10) coolant temp sensor seems quite expensive at $34. I understand that the LS style can be used. Is there a particular part number that is recommended? Any downsides?

    Same question about the 100 psi sensor (554-102) for oil pressure use. Is there a more reasonably priced alternative?
    Is there something special about these Holley branded sensors that make them so expensive (like with the WBO2s which have a special calibration)?

    Remember, you get what you pay for. The Holley pressure transducers (SSI Technologies) are very high quality and stainless steel construction (LINK). The Holley transducers have integrated ASIC signal conditioning for calibration & temperature compensation (unlike some less expensive models). Holley transducers are compatible with air, hydrogen, nitrogen, water, refrigerant, engine oil, diesel, ATF/hydraulic & brake fluid. The operating range is -40°C − 105°C (-40°F − 221°F).

    Good points on the pressure transducers. I'm concluding that the higher price of the Holley CTS is not warranted. Thanks for the help.

    Correct. In fact, I prefer the Standard Motor Products TX3. (Standard Motor Products are high quality auto parts.)

    1967 Camaro. 5.3L L33 swap, Holley Dominator EFI. 10.65 @ 128 so far.
    Rick's Tank with dual Walbro 450s, Holley 120 lb/hr injectors.
    LS1 intake, stock DBW TB, LJMS custom cam/BTR springs/Tick pushrods.
    TH400, FTI Converter, Fab9, 3.25 gears/Wave-Loc diff, 275/60/15 M/T ET Streets. 125 HP dry nitrous.
    Waiting to install Holley Turbo Manifold Kit: Forced Inductions Billet S485/Vibrant 18x12x6" A2A. Looking to go 8s this year.

    Just to confirm, the Standard Motor Products TX3 does not require any custom field entries, just select "LSx"?

    Those are brass. Not sure about use with E85, but for oil pressure they seem like a good fit.

    Anyone have any experience using the Standard Motor Products TX3 for oil temperature? Seems like it should work. Solid brass body should be fine with oil, and the temp range should be high enough to handle it.
