Thread: Trying to figure out how to hook up 558-312/558-307.

  1. Default Trying to figure out how to hook up 558-312/558-307.

Just trying to figure this all out. Been reading & scratching my head as to how to properly hook it up to the ECU/pinned properly.
Are all the Inputs/Outputs pinned the same just name differently? Example: P1A pinned same as P1B etc., etc.
I'm just probably tired, and should take a break, but I swear I'm missing something (connector to ECU) or how to set it up.

That first picture is not the wiring schematic for the Holley 558-307 CNP Main Harness and Holley 558-312 CNP Coil Sub-Harness.
Are you using Holley's 556-112 CNP coils or Holley's waste-spark DIS you pictured? If DIS, you don't need the two aforementioned harnesses.

Sorry, I'm running the Holley 556-112 CNP smart coils, crank trigger, cam sync (Hall-Effect) & Dominator ECU. I guess I'm really just trying to figure out the 558-307 connection to the ECU & pin-out. I believe this is were I'm scratching my head.

Read the Holley 558-307 CNP Main Harness instructions (LINK)! It has the wiring diagram. Nine wires connect to the J1B ECU connector.

Alright. I think I'm getting all confused with these J1A, J1B, etc. connections. Sorry to ask dumb questions, I literally am learning as I go.

P1B is the same ECU connector location as J1B:

Thanks Danny. Hope I won't have any more no brainers to ask ya in the future.

I appreciate the help as I now understand the setup better. Just one more question about assembling the plug & wires itself. Do you just find the correct pin on the J1B plug, and push the unterminated wires that have the ends on them already, in to proper pin in J1B plug? Or is there a procedure to inserting the wires properly? Don't want to destroy the plug if I do it wrong. LOL.

Installing, removing & relocating (pinning) the ECU connector terminals is easy. No special tools involved.
Push the single wide white tab to release the lock (on all terminals), and push the two narrow white tabs to re-secure.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.
