I just put a new battery & starter in my car. It greatly reduced my starting time. From initial crank to engine RPM over 1000 takes 1.6 seconds. Two years ago with a new starter & battery, and using the distributor for RPM & cam sync, it would never start this quickly. I could not tell you if it's a benefit from using the crank trigger. I just looked up an old log using the dual sync distributor, and my crank time to start was 1.9 sec. My cranking RPM was around 190. Record a datalog. You'll probably see what's causing it to take so long to start.
