Thread: Pro-Jection 4Di Different ECU

    Default Pro-Jection 4Di Different ECU

So I got a full Pro-Jection 4Di 900 cfm setup from a buddy. It's off of a motorhome that was brought to his shop. It ran when pulled. I have everything it should need. Except the ECU isn't the Holley one I see on other older kits. Mine has a GM truck PCM that has been chipped for a big block. I know nothing about chipping computers, but I have researched a lot with MegaSquirt before. I know the pros of MS and other controllers like it. But what limits do I run into with the chipped PCM? Is it the same type of programming, other than having to reprogram the chip anytime I want changes?

The Pro-Jection 4Di ECU is laptop tuned with EFI software (LINK), not reprogramming chips.

OK, so the ECU I have, is what it's supposed to use?

If you have an older Holley Pro-Jection EFI system, it only works with an older Holley Pro-Jection ECU.

This is what I have. No spot to hook a computer too. Just a diagnostic port on the harness.

The chip says Ford 460, but we pulled it off of a BBC 454.
Do I just have a truck harness & ECU, just using the Holley TBI?
The kit installation PDF shows I should have this box:

That's not a Holley Pro-Jection ECU, nor is it a Holley EFI system. It looks like a GM ECU with a Holley throttle body unit (another brand aftermarket EFI system).

OK yeah, I was confused when I saw what the kit was vs what I had. So all I have that's anything really, it's just the Holley TBI unit. Guess I'll have to get something like a MegaSquirt or find a way to build my own setup. Well I appreciate the help! Thank you.

Oh, so I can still use my throttle body and run newer harness & ECU?
