    Default Fuel Map Questions

    I have the Holley 950-22S system I had for years sitting in the box. I sent the ECU to Holley last month to see if there where any upgrades, and to insure it was working properly. I'm putting it on a stock 1973 Cadillac 500 with factory ignition. Before putting the Holley system on, we had the engine running great with a carburetor to insure we had a smooth running engine, and there where no issues with mechanical or timing. I've been working off the base maps provided on the Holley site. Using mainly TBI1, TBI2 & TBI6. I have set the ignition to coil. The fuel pump is set to 21 psi.

    The engine starts, stumbles & dies. We can get it to stay running by fluttering the throttle. I've increased the pulse width in increments of 5 as laid out in the manual. I've only done this in the idle RPM range, as this is just a test to get it to idle. It is now getting a lot of fuel.

    The engine starts right up, and dies if the throttle is not touched. If you use the throttle to try to maintain the engine to run, it backfires. That tells me I have a lean condition.

    I don't see the IAC being an issue. I have upped the pulse width to 60 at a MAP of 44 and an RPM of 1000. Does 60 mean 60 ms?

    Incidentally, according to Holley Tech, the TBI/MPI1-6 are "theoretical base maps" and are horrible starting points.! (Additional C950 Information)
