    Default Additional Sensors For Terminator

    Newbie to this forum and EFI. I purchased the Terminator EFI, and will be installing it on a small block 355 cid, 5 speed with A/C in a '69 Camaro. I'm told by Holley Tech that in addition to the fuel pressure transducer, 4 more additional sensors can be added to the Terminator system. At this point, I'd like to add the ambient air temp and oil pressure transducer. I see the input for fuel pressure, but do not see any provision for adding anything else. Not sure if I have been misinformed or just need help. Also, I will have the ECU control the timing. MSD is out of stock on their #8366 distributor. They are not expecting release of it with an updated module until August or Sept. I purchased the Jegs brand equivalent, but am unsure of the quality. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. John

    Yes, the Terminator EFI uses an HP ECU, and has four Inputs & four Outputs.
    Any Inputs/Outputs that aren't prewired, do utilize the HP's Inputs & Outputs.
    Aside from the (Terminator) oil pressure transducer, which also needs to be wired in.
    Meaning, it's predefined (& a predesignated pin) and isn't Pin Mapped (not Custom I/O).

    The oil pressure transducer is wired just like the fuel pressure transducer, except the oil signal wire is pinned into P1A-A20. Look at Figure 18, page 31 of the Holley EFI Wiring Manual (LINK); that's how the two pressure transducers are wired in the multi-port main wire harnesses. Since it's a Holley pressure transducer, you can simply tap Sensor +5V & Ground off of the fuel pressure transducer. You don't have to run the sensor ground all the way back to pin A18 at the ECU. You can attach it to any sensor ground wire, anywhere in the main harness.

    At this point, I'd like to add the ambient air temp and oil pressure transducer. I see the input for fuel pressure, but do not see any provision for adding anything else.

    The Terminator ECU is an HP ECU (same ECU, only difference is the decal). It's the Terminator EFI & HP EFI Main Harnesses that are different (LINK).
    The Holley 558-420 Terminator EFI Input/Output Harness has the extra 4 Input wires & 1 Output wire that's not included in the Terminator Main Harness.

    Personally, I wouldn't use a distributor that uses an ignition module. (Actually, I wouldn't use a distributor at all.) For a distributor type ignition, I'd use the Holley EFI Dual Sync distributor (read paragraph below) with a CD ignition box. But since you already have the GM small cap HEI computer controlled distributor (from Jegs), you can replace the ignition module with a genuine GM HEI ignition module, and it should be fine.

    FYI: Holley EFI now sells their own Dual Sync Hall-Effect distributors (LINK).
    They're a small cap design, "plug & play" with Holley EFI, and no need for a modified Firing Order.
    The crank & cam sensor signals also provide sequential injection capability (MPFI applications).
    It's "plug & play" (into the 10-pin ignition connector on the EFI Main Harness) and requires a CD
    ignition box (Instructions). The MSD 6201 Digital 6A CDI box & 8253 HVC-2 coil are a great match.
    The MSD CD ignition box is wired as shown in the Holley EFI Wiring Manual:

    A blank cap (LINK) is available, if the user decides to convert to Coil-Near-Plug/DIS later (no CDI box).
    Of course, this component can also be used as a crank and/or cam sync/oil pump drive unit.

    The Custom Ignition Parameters (in System Parameters) for the Holley EFI Dual Sync Distributor:
    Ignition Type ............. ― "Custom"
    Crank Sensor Type ..... ― "1 Pulse/Fire"
    Sensor Type .............. ― "Digital Falling"
    Inductive Delay .......... ― "100.0 usec" ( Synchronization info, adjusted per application.)
    Ignition Reference Angle ― "50°" ( Inherent rotor-phasing of this unit.)
    Cam Sensor Type ........ ― "Single Pulse" ( "Not Used" for TBI, unless CNP ignition.)
    Sensor Type .............. ― "Digital Falling"
    Output Setup Type ..... ― "Points Output" ( CDI box ground trigger.)
    Dwell Time ................. ― "2.0 msec" ( Do not set this to 1.5 msec!)
