    Default Timing Control - 1971 Pontiac 400

    Does anyone know if they make a distributor for a 1971 Pontiac 400 engine that I can adjust my timing through the Holley Terminator?

    Holley EFI 565-107 Dual Sync Distributor. It's "plug & play" (into the 10-pin ignition connector on the EFI Main Harness) and requires a CD ignition box (Instructions). It will also provide sequential injection capability (MPFI applications), and can be converted to Holley waste-spark DIS or Coil-Near-Plug distributorless ignition (LINK).

    What would be a good CD ignition box to use with 565-107, and have a rev limiter? Or would the rev limiter work within the ECU?

    The MSD 6201 Digital 6A CDI box & their 8253 HVC-2 coil are a great match.

    Yes, always use the Holley EFI rev limiter. The Holley ECU rev limiters revert the ECU to open loop mode while active, so the Learning/self-tuning isn't skewed. Also, I'd prefer the ECU to control timing (because there are many ECU parameters/features that function off of the timing control), and use the MSD CD ignition box for increased spark energy.
