    Default Is there a minimum post-pump filter size (micron) for carburetors?

    Is there a minimum size post pump filter for a carburetor?

    I originally had a carb but went to EFI. I changed my old carb filters to the EFI pre (100 micron) and post (10 micron) filters. Holley part numbers 162-551 & 162-552. I'm returning to a carburetor setup, and I'm replacing the fuel pump with a Holley Blue Pump 12-802 & Pressure Regulator 12-841.

    In the instructions for the regulator, it states to use a 40 micron post filter for carbs and lists the 10 micron filter for "High Pressure EFI" systems (Figure 2C, Page 2, document 199R10575).

    Am I OK with the 10 micron filter with the Holley Blue Pump? Or, since I now have a "low pressure" pump, do I need to get part #162-566 to change the 10 micron to a 40 micron filter?

    Yes, use the 40 micron carburetor filter after the pump.
