Thread: Converting V3 Files

    Default Converting V3 Files

I'm having an issue permanently converting a V3 file to the new V4 software. I opened V4 and downloaded the V3 file. Trouble is, it will not save in the new software, nor Send To ECU. What am I missing?

Exactly what error does the software give you?

When you open your V3 file and try to save it, have you made sure you're saving it into the V4 file directories?
And do you try to close it and re-open it?
You should be opening one that has a V4 icon next to it, when you restart the software.

Have you done the firmware update to the ECU?
You can't push a V4 file to the ECU until you do a V4 ECU firmware update.

I haven't updated the firmware on the ECU. I'm a computer noob. How do I do that?

Before updating firmware, ensure the current Global Folder is saved somewhere, since it will be erased from the ECU.
When doing something as important as an ECU firmware update, my laptop is fully charged, and my vehicle battery trickle charger is on (LINK).
Remember, you can not lose battery power or laptop communication during an ECU firmware update. If so, the ECU will have to be sent to
Holley, to be reflashed at their end. ECU firmware updates must be performed very seriously, and with a properly functioning laptop computer.
