    Default NOS Launcher Voltage Question

    I'm rewiring much of the car and rebuilding a control cluster for a friend's car. It has the NOS Launcher system. It was completely unfused and had a bunch of poor splices & stuff (I could pull several wires out of crimp terminals without any force), and was a real rats nest of wires.

    The battery is an 8 cell lead acid he calls a "16 volt", but of course it really is well over 18 volts when fresh off a charge. My question is if that voltage is safe on his MSD and NOS Launcher stuff? He has been running it that way, but do I need to Zener diode clamp the control inputs at 12 or 15 volts?

    Does this stuff have the headroom to use with "16 volt" batteries, since 16V is really over 18V?

    I thought I would post a followup. Holley Tech checked with the manufacturer, and the NOS Launcher system is good with a 16 volt battery, which is over 18 volts when on full charge.
