Thread: HP EFI to Terminator LS MPFI

    Default HP EFI to Terminator LS MPFI

    Is it possible to convert an HP EFI (part # 550-602) to a Terminator LS MPFI (part #550-608)? The reason I ask is because I purchased the HP EFI about a year ago, but have not yet installed it. I'm intimidated of the laptop tuning required to get the engine to run properly. Using the Terminator system, it looks like I could get the engine up & running much easier, and then later, ease into the laptop tuning if I wanted/needed to. Possibly a software swap and the addition of the 3.5" LCD Touchscreen might be all that is needed, but I really have no clue! Thanks.

    No conversion necessary. All the Terminator EFI systems are HP EFI systems. The Terminator EFI uses the same ECU as the Avenger/HP EFI, and it can be upgraded to an HP EFI simply by connecting a laptop computer (USB Data Cable).

    If the user knows what they're doing with the Holley (HP) EFI software, the Terminator EFI system can be setup & tuned with a laptop. Usually, a Terminator EFI user isn't familiar with the Holley EFI software, so it's best to initially setup & run the engine with the Terminator's handheld controller. If fine tuning is desired, download the Holley V2 EFI software to your laptop (Link), open the software with USB cable (Link) connected, click on "USB Link" to go "Online" with the ECU, and select "Get From ECU".

    Possibly a software swap and the addition of the 3.5" LCD Touchscreen might be all that is needed, but I really have no clue!
    That's correct. The 3.5" LCD Touchscreen does have a base calibration/Global Folder Wizard (GCF Wizard). Read this LINK for further details.

    I read the link you provided, so let's see if I got this straight. I already have the HP LS system, so all I need to do is purchase the 3.5" LCD Touchscreen. But only the Touchscreens that come with the Terminator system have the base calibration/Global Folder Wizard installed on the SD card. I would need to contact Holley Tech Support to get the proper SD card. I would then be able to plug the 3.5" LCD Touchscreen to my HP EFI system, and have the ability to setup & tune with the 3.5" Touchscreen using the GCF Wizard. I would also have the ability to tune with my laptop using the V2 EFI software. Thanks Danny for your help, you are a valuable asset to all on this forum.
