    Smile Holley 4150 Differences

Can anyone tell me what's the basic difference between a Holley 4779 750 cfm race carb, and a 80540 600 cfm race carb, besides the obvious? And is there a way to convert the 600 to a 750?

The 4779 750 from what I can tell is not a RACE carb it is more of street strip carb. It has a choke tower with mechanical choke, timed/ported,PCV vacuum ports. You can be assured Holley's calibrations for it will be favored towards a street setup. Your 750 is gonna be for 350 - 427 ci motors (depending on each setup is) if putting on a 350 or smaller it would be for setup that is high rpm and more strip oriented. (heads, cam, headers, gear etc etc)

The 80540 600cfm is more of race/strip carb. No choke tower for smoother/even airflow, adjustable air bleeds, (750 non adjustable),different float and fuel blow setup, high flow metering blocks, notched floats and jet extensions for hard launches/cornering so that fuel delivery is consistent. The stock calibration from Holley would probably be RICH for a street setup car/truck.

To convert the 600 - 750 would at minimum require new throttle plate assembly and possibly new throttle body. Would have to compare venturi sizes to each to determine. Might also have to get new metering blocks as well.
