Thread: Throttle Return Spring Options

    Default Throttle Return Spring Options

What are people using for throttle return spring setups? I want it to look clean and "factory OEM". I was thinking something like THIS. I would love to see what others have done. Pictures would be very helpful too.

Terminator comes with a nice very factory appearing bracket for the throttle cable & return spring. Two different versions in fact. One accommodates a TV cable, the other is throttle only.

I can't use the one that comes with the kit, since I have a throttle rod setup. That requires me to use an intake manifold mounted kickdown mount. I need a return spring that goes in front.

Maybe one of these throttle return springs will work for you: (Throttle Return Springs)

You might be able to use this bracket with some modification: (Spring & Perch Bracket)

Thanks, you guys have helped. The Quick Fuel one I literally just gave away, with the quick fuel carb I had on the motor! I didn't think about saving that. I may try that one. I like the look of the Holley billet style mount. In looking at the one posted by Mr. Cabral, I found this:

    I appreciate the help.

Cannibalized the Quick Fuel bracket off of my old carb, and made my own setup. I guess whatever works for now, and I will revisit it later.

I still wasn't happy with it. So I ordered this I'm going to cut & reshape the back to eliminate the cable part. I may have it powder coated too. Will have to modify the part that attaches to the linkage slightly too. Should look nice and work well. Cost a bit more than I wanted, but it will last forever.

Any new suggestions on this subject?

I also have the stock linkage rod from the pedal and would work the best having it mount behind the TBI. I looked at the Mr Gasket 6092:, but either way I mount it, it's either a little to short and doesn't sit right on the back stud & TBI. Even the Mr. Gasket #19: didn't have a manifold bolt in the right spot to make it a simple add on.
