Thread: C950 Startup Help!

Any reason why the datalogger option in my software won't open? I click on it and it does nothing.

So I had it out today. It's running great, idles good. I did notice my tranny is not shifting like it use to. I think it has to do with the timing. It's shifting earlier then before the swap. I set the base at 17 from the map, while it was warmed up. The base before the swap was at 8. Also, my temp was up a little more then normal to which also indicates the timing. Is the spark map giving it too much timing at idle and initial timing? It also seems a little sluggish off the line, like I'm missing some torque.

I have no idea. The C950 data logger always worked fine for me.

Is the ignition timing synchronized with the ECU? If so, tune the Spark Map.

I found out my TV cable for the trans came out of adjustment. Readjusted that and all is good there.

This thing runs great!! I really can't believe how good it runs for very little tuning. I'm sure I can get more out of it, but baby steps for the tuning. I have to get the logger to work before I start changing stuff. I'm using Windows 7; would that be why the logger doesn't work? I'm going to try it in XP mode on another to be sure.

Also, the map I had used that was corrupted came from the individual map downloads, not the software itself. I guess those downloads are not the pro software.

Probably. The Holley Technical Library states the C950 software isn't compatible with Windows 7.

Correct, not all those base calibrations are C950 "Pro". That's what "Force Default Values" is for.

So it's confirmed the data logger works fine in Windows XP mode on one of my laptops. The software works fine in Windows 7, except for the data logger. I'll try getting XP mode installed in my Microsoft surface using Windows 8.1. I would love to use that.
