    Default Which ignition box - mild boosted BBC & distributor?

    We are putting together a car with a mild low compression boosted (10 psi) 540 BBC. I was originally told by the Holley Tech that with a FAST Dual Sync 305005 distributor, we would not need any other boxes. We went thru great trouble notching the Pro Flo intake manifold to clear the FAST distributor, now I hear we should have ran a $70.00 GM small cap HEI distributor & a CD box. Anyway, car is getting close and I need to order the coil, and whatever box and wiring harness we will need to get car down the road. I need the Holley EFI to control the timing. I have been trying to get thru on the Holley Tech line with no luck. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks! J

    The FAST Dual Sync distributor requires a CD ignition box to fire the coil (Link).
    On a turbocharged BBC, you would be using a CD ignition box anyway.

    Both distributors have always been an option.
    The GM small cap HEI is the typical distributor used (although not capable of sequential injection).

    Anyway, car is getting close and I need to order the coil, and whatever box and wiring harness we will need to get car down the road.
    An MSD Digital 6 series CD ignition box.
    GM small cap HEI distributor - Holley 558-304 Ignition Adapter Harness
    FAST Dual Sync distributor - Holley 558-313 Ignition Adapter Harness

    I need the Holley EFI to control the timing.
    Holley EFI will control the timing with either aforementioned distributor.
    However, depending on how large the fuel injector are, you may need to run sequential injection. Here's why:
