Thread: Holley Red Fuel Pump - Before or After Mercruiser Fuel/Water Filter

Default Holley Red Fuel Pump - Before or After Mercruiser Fuel/Water Filter

After replacing my marine 350 engine with carbs, I have no longer the option to use a mechanical fuel pump. I have positioned the pump after the filter element of Mercruiser.

It is hanging very low on the boat, at the same position where the mechanical pump was.

The Holley pump is a push pump. Must it be positioned directly next to the fuel tank, before the fuel/water separator? How can share their experience?

    Thank you. BR Bob

What's the micron rating of the fuel/water separator, and is there any other pre-filter before the fuel pump?

The fuel pump should be mounted close to the fuel tank, with a 100 micron pre-filter between the two.
