The return line on the power steering pump or power steering gearbox?
...we attempted to get back on the road with a quick cut & hose clamp repair, but that's failing and needs to be done correctly.
What failed, the hose clamps or the repair section of hose?
The proper size piece of hose, and four fuel injection hose clamps should fix it.
...but upon measuring, they found the cut piece is 12mm.
12 mm I.D. or O.D.? Is this a preformed (curved) aluminum line?
Sometimes, the entire hose/line can be replaced with a flex hose.
Is there such thing as metric parts?
Not from Earl's. Earl's only offers ⅜" & ˝" O.D. aluminum tubing (Link).
However, Earl's does have some metric adapter fittings.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.
