Thread: Offline C950 Map Editing?

  1. #1

    Default Offline C950 Map Editing?

    C950 Pro latest software.
I have it working while connected to the ECU, but want to work offline.
If I open the software to view the Fuel or Spark map I get errors about comm port.

So how do I work on the maps while not connected to the car?

Thanks, for the link, but this link seems to explain how to save and load a file to/from disk.
I want to edit the data offline. (No ECU connected)

    Example:
I connect to the ECU and save off data to a file.
Then later (off-site) review the data, and make changes based on what I see in the logs etc.

    The issue:
When I open the C950 software, load the file and select a map while not connected to ECU it complains nonstop.
It wants to connect to the ECU...

    Question:
Is there a tool or way to load up the parameters and edit them off line, for later use?

Else is there a document that tells me the format of the data in the file, so I can write my own parse program?
I am a software guy so creating a simple app is not an issue, if I know the data format...
    Thanks Again.

Make the change & click "Save Data To Disk"; then select your engine file from the list and click OK.

Yes, that's very typical and there's no setting to disable it.
You just need to keep a serial-to-USB cable connected to your home PC (on that comm port).
