    Default Dominator ECU Question

    I have a Terminator setup now. Down the road, if I want to switch to a Dominator ECU for transmission control, will it control my Terminator TBI? Tom

    Yes, it will. The Avenger, HP & Dominator ECUs, all use the same main harness and EFI software.
    The Terminator EFI software is also the same, but its main harness is different for its TBI unit.
    You would just need the Dominator ECU (LINK) & the transmission harness (LINK).

    When I first converted to the Dominator EFI system (from Commander 950), my engine remained TBI controlled. I later converted to MPFI.

    I read the thread on the Pro-Touring forum (LINK). I'm not sure if they're aware of the points below:
    • The Terminator, Avenger and HP ECUs are the same ECU.
    • They can be upgraded to a Dominator ECU just by replacing the ECU.
    • The Avenger, HP & Dominator ECUs use the same main harness (LINK).
    • The Terminator EFI uses a very different main harness (minimum wiring).
    • The Terminator, Avenger, HP & Dominator EFI use the same EFI software.
    • The Dominator P1A & P1B section of the ECU, is the same as Terminator, Avenger & HP.
    • Every Holley ECU can control an engine by TBI or MPFI (even the C950 is capable of this).
