Well, it was the fuse. I tried replacing the fuse, and it shorted out again when I connected the negative cable to the battery. The only thing I was playing with was the ignition system. What could be causing the fuse to blow? Thanks.

The 40 amp fuse blows and was blown. Where's the other one?
If the main power harness isn't shorted to ground (40 amp fuse only blows when plugging in the ECU connector), call Holley Tech Service (LINK).
It's on the system relay wiring (located near the system relay).Where's the other one?
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

It blows when I connect the negative battery cable.
I know, but that doesn't isolate the main power harness from the ECU.
Start by disconnecting all ECU connectors, except the main power harness.
Leave the power harness connected to the battery.
Disconnect the main power harness from the ECU.
Does the 40 amp fuse blow as soon as it's replaced?
If so, the main power harness is shorted to ground.
If not, reconnect the main power harness to the ECU.
Does the 40 amp fuse blow as soon as it's connected?
If so, the ECU is defective. Call Holley Tech Service (LINK).

Hi. Had the same issue. Holley replied that ‘improper installation” was the cause and warranty not applicable. Quite a joke as the install was done by an electrical engineer!
Hoping you don’t experience same reply, so check wiring and document wiring when you contact Holley.
