I have a 302 in my 65 Mustang which has an MSD system on it and a 750 Holley double pumper. I know the carb is way to big and I am going to a 600 cfm. My distributor is a fixed point and I have a rev limiter also. Do I need to change the distributor too because of the smaller carb? I just got the car from the wife of the dead owner and she knows little about how he built it. The fumes are dreadful and I had the 750 rebuilt but it didn't help. Can anyone help as I am not much of a mechanic.

      I had a 65 must,302 ,t5 with a dual quad intake and two edelbrock 600 carbs,
using a stock ford duraspark dist.and a msd6a with a blaster 2 coil it ran 8 years without a plug change ...very rich but that msd was the best thing going!it would not load up or stumble.stock carbs not jetted. Its not the size of a good running carb. not at all, period.
