  • Tachometer Signal

I have a Mallory Promaster 8354M distributor with a Mallory Promaster Coil in a '66 Mustang with a 351W. I've recently added a tachometer, but when I start the engine the tach needle moves to around 500 RPM and won't move any higher regardless of revs. The tach is installed correctly with the green signal wire connected to the -VE side of the coil. The supplier of the tach has suggested I need a tach adapter or signal filter to correct the feed to the tach. If I need a tach adapter, is the correct part 8910?
