Can the Terminator X control dual DBW throttle bodies with the correct Holley harness?

  • #2
I believe you need a Dominator EFI system. This specifically says Dominator: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/fuel_injection/harnesses/parts/558-411?srsltid=AR57-fBd7XPiDr5FlLIs75exFWXDqSEaJX5KhtHdS9W7JKZdh22Ezca Qi-c

Yeah, it's in the first sentence of the dual DBW harness instructions.
May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

I read the instructions, but the Terminator X Max can also control a DBW throttle body. Just assumed they hadn't updated the instructions to include the verbiage.

That's a good point, but the Holley 558-411 product webpage also states it's for Dominator EFI only.

I don't see where it says "only" either. Ha ha. Maybe time for an experiment or call to Holley Tech support.

There are extra pins, it looks like, comparing the schematics. Dang, so probably not likely it'll work.

The Dominator has two sets of Half-Bridge drivers, which is what is required for dual DBW throttle, while the Terminator X Max only has one set. It just won't work. Andrew

Gotcha. That sucks. Back to the drawing board.

There are external DBW drivers that I've seen used with OEM style ECUs. Can I ask what you're working on? What's the engine and intake combination is? Andrew

I was wondering if I could use something like that. Engine setup is a 428ci, 14.5:1 compression, big hydraulic camshaft, Holley Hi-Ram. I wanted to run Holley's dual 4500 lid and run two 120mm DBW throttle bodies.

Total overkill on the airflow. A dual 4150 lid with two 90mm LS3 throttle bodies will be much more than enough airflow. A single 90mm throttle body flows over 1000 cfm. Andrew

Not for what I'm doing. I'll see what it does with a single 120mm and go from there.

It'd be interesting to hear about your application. :)

What I've stated, .800" lift camshaft and 8500+ RPM. Shooting for over 800 RWHP.
