Why do I sometimes get datalog files that look like this? This was recorded during a 20 minute drive.

Is that the Strip Chart or a Datalog? If these were PC (laptop) recorded datalogs, as opposed to internal (ECU) datalogs, it was probably due to USB cable noise interference, or the laptop itself. This can also happen if the datalog "Logging Rate" (FPS) is set too high in Setup ECU Logging.May God's grace bless you in the Lord Jesus Christ.

This a 100MB DLZ datalog file that was downloaded from the ECU.
EDIT: Could be that something gets lost during download, because I downloaded it again today and I got a normal looking datalog file. Last time I tried to download a file again, it was still messed up on the second attempt.Last edited by TRP; 10-05-2017, 12:44 PM.2004 Chevy Avalanche converted to 2WD, LSX 429, ETP LS7 6 bolt heads, twin TVS 1900 superchargers @ 20 PSI, 4L80E with brake, 9.5" SF rear with 3.73 gears, Dominator ECU

Yes, the tracebacks are a sign that the timing on the datalog was "lost" at some point. It happens more frequently on the Sniper EFI system because it can't associate a Real Time Clock stamp with the data sample. It only has a data count, and if you get enough RFI to reset the ECU the data count is reset as well and, swoosh, the trace goes back to the start.
In this case, I'm guessing that something got corrupted in the conversion from the zipped DLZ to the unzipped DL file. Probably not worth worrying about unless you see it happen again.
