Setting Up Speedometer

OK thanks Danny. After reading the link, we got it to work on Monday. Had to go into the gauge in the ECU and set it up, then set the display in the Digital Dash to select the speed input and works now. Thank you, Dustin.

Were using a (S) magnetic sensor with AC volts. Can we even use this type of sensor with this system?
In Inputs (Inputs/Outputs ICF), set the Type to "IPU Speed/Freq". Configure the Input for "Miles/Hour",
Minimum Signal Voltage" - 0.10V or lower, PPROT (pulses per rotation of reluctor), Gear Ratio & Tire Diameter.
You'll leave the "Gear Ratio" at 1.00 if the VSS sensor is installed after any gearing or at the wheel (I.E. ABS sensor).

Just the one signal wire (IPU Speed/Freq) is routed to the I/O Auxiliary Harness.
Dominator Auxiliary Harnesses: https://www.holley.com/products/fuel...efi/harnesses/
To connect up to 4 Inputs & Outputs to the EFI Main Harness, use I/O Auxiliary Harness 558-400.
Eight Wire I/O Auxiliary Harness Connector Pin-Out (also in the Holley EFI Wiring Manual - LINK):
Pin A...A12...White/Blue (Input #1) F,5,2,T,H,G
Pin B...A3....White/Red (Input #2) F,5,2,T,H,G
Pin C...A13...White/Black (Input #3) F,5,G
Pin D...A4....White/Green (Input #4) F,5,G
Pin E...B12...Gray/Yellow (Output #1) H,P+
Pin F...B11...Gray/Red (Output #2) H,P+
Pin G...B10...Gray/Black (Output #3) G,P−
Pin H...B3....Gray/Green (Output #4) G,P−

Read the 2nd LINK from post #2. My VSS sensor displays MPH on my Digital Dash no problem.
My Auto Meter VSS works perfect for the ECU, Data Monitor, Datalogger, Gauge Panel, Digital Dash & I/O. Program it correctly, and ensure you've selected the correct data channel ("Value To Monitor") for the Digital Dash gauge. Scroll down toward the end of the list for your custom I/O. Example: Don't select "Speed" (which is from the Transmission ICF), if your VSS is from the custom Inputs/Outputs ICF.

We're just trying to get a signal from the sensor to the ECU, and have the Digital Dash pick it up. What we've tried so far, is shielded wire from the VR 2-wire 40 tooth pickup to J2A-21 & J2A-22 ground then added the Transmission ICF, and enabled the speedometer with no luck. When we do that, it adds an Speedo Output, which we can't pin it to the Digital Dash. This is the first EFI system we have done, still learning. Thank you, Dustin.

Are you trying to send a pulses per mile signal to a speedometer, or adding a vehicle speed sensor channel input?
If operating an electronic speedometer, do so by using the "Speedometer Output Enable" in the Transmission ICF:
http://forums.holley.com/showthread....0291#post30291 (Speedometer Output Info - Dominator ECU/Transmission ICF)
If wiring a stand-alone VSS sensor (MPH display), do so with a custom speed Input in the Inputs/Outputs ICF:

Setting Up Speedometer
Hello, looking for advice with my setup, trying to get the speedometer to work. This is what I'm using:
Dominator ECU
558-504 Main Harness
558-401 J2A Auxiliary Harness
558-402 J2B Auxiliary Harness
553-106 Digital Dash
Gear vendor overdrive
2-wire 40 tooth magnetic pickup AC volt. Like the TH400 automatic transmission.
I've been trying a few things with no success. So just want to start fresh with advice on how to set it up. Is the J4 harness needed? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you, DustinTags: None
