  • Manual choke won't stay open.

I have a 1966 Ford Fairlane with an FE big block and two 1850s on a factory manifold. A manual choke is installed on the primary/front carburetor with a Holley cable. Note that in this instance, the carbs are mounted with secondaries forward, so the cable makes a u-turn to attach to the carb. While driving, the choke cable will slowly walk out causing the choke to begin to close and engage the fast idle cam. The cable moves freely and the choke linkage appears to be adjusted properly. I've attempted to reroute the cable and make a series of minor adjustments, but the cable walks out regardless. Is there a way to lock the cable after disengaging the choke so that this does not continue to happen?
