Is there a test one can do with the IAC motor out of the throttle body to tell if it's good or not? I have had some cold start idle issues so I decided to pull the IAC motor to see if it looked OK. It physically looks OK, but the piston cannot be moved by hand. Is this how it should be?

The IAC is tested by measuring the resistance of the two coils between pins A-B & C-D. To test the drivers in the ECU connect an LED test light to battery positive and with the IAC unplugged, probe each terminal of the connector harness side and the test light should flash each time the key is cycled on & off. If the light is constantly lit that tells you the wire or driver is shorted, no light would indicate an open wire or the driver has failed.
